Third Opening - Jan 23 - Call for Entries!

For the Third Opening of the Artists Guild Photography and Illustration Sections at the Brentwood Gallery, we will have a theme - People in Photography.
The Third Opening is January 23rd, 2009. The time will go quickly, so please get your artwork ready sooner rather than later. If you didn't get your work into the past openings - this is a perfect time to showcase some of your work. New members are welcome to show as well. Artists Guild Members only - please. Join today!

We have a theme - People in Photography.

For subject matter the people could be young, old, smooth-cheeked, wrinkled, clean-shaven, bearded, smiling, sexy, provocative, pretty, frowning, crying, doing "the scream," or “doing their thing.” Maybe even a self portrait. Highly Photoshopped images looking like Picasso paintings are acceptable as long as they look like art and the viewer can tell that it contains a person.

The focal point of the picture must be a person. Eagles, horses, insects, snakes, spiders are all fine IF they aren't the focal point of the image. Example would be a old torn clothes fisherman with a 2oz fish would be acceptable. If it's a 300lb sailfish, it would not be acceptable.

We are considering:
A “Black and White” section. All the B&W entered will be displayed in the same room.
“Fine Art Nudes” section. All the nudes would be displayed together as well.
Both of these ideas are provided there would be enough entries to have a section.
We need members to comment on this. Good idea? Bad idea? Got a better idea?

We will be collecting $3/entry to cover refreshment and catalog printing costs.
If you plan on entering, leave a comment here!
If you have questions or suggestions, leave a comment here!

We need more (different) people to step-up for this opening. It's your opportunity to get involved, and make the exhibition go the way you'd like it to go.
