Orphan Works Bill

Monday, Apr. 27, 7:00 - 8:30 p.m.
The Orphan Works bill being considered by the U.S. Congress appears to be dead for the time being. But the legislation may be re-introduced later this year. The proposed amendment to the Copyright Act would allow museums, libraries and other "keepers of our heritage" to safely use copyrighted works if they cannot find the copyright owner to acquire a license. In principle, those are laudable goals. But opponents say the bill, as drafted, would infringe on artists' rights. Join our panel for a thought-provoking discussion about this controversial issue and learn what Orphan Works legislation would mean to you and your work.

Curt Parker assembled the current banner of the lovely models. Curt shows us some of the portraits he is exhibiting in the Brentwood Gallery. All sorts of lighting techniques are demonstrated. As more and more banners come rolling in, I'll swap the banner around to others. The banner is one way to get your works noticed a little more. Click here to learn more on make your own banner.
